Project Scope: Located deep in the heart of the beautiful Salmon River country near Salmon, Idaho, River Discovery provides outdoor recreational opportunities for children, adolescents, and young adults with serious illness.
Through a series of small, multi-day, cost free, summer camps, River Discovery offers a personalized program of fun, educational and adventurous outdoor experiences aimed at restoring physical and emotional strength, while nurturing friendships and family bonds. Design Components: River Discovery was originally Camp Discovery Idaho and was was designed by Amy Tonsmeire. In 2009 the site was upgraded to it's new format and changed to River Discovery. For all the wonderful and selfless work they do, and in honor of Joe Tonsmeire who lost his fight with cancer in 2007, the site was programmed and hosted at no charge as a gift to the Tonsmeire family and all the volunteers and children whose lives will be changed by the opportunities the camp provides. Programming Languages: VB Script, Active Server Pages, JavaScript, DHTML and HTML.
